Reports have emerged that the Opposition coalition has invested in expensive instruments that will be required to be used in their planned swearing-in ceremony.
Sources within the National Super Alliance (NASA) have confided to the media that the coalition intends to import the Presidential Standard from France and the Gold Sword from Dubai.

The two will be used to act as symbols of power during the administration of oaths to leader Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka .
A Presidential Standard is a flag used exclusively by the president and is only raised where the head of state is located, while the Gold Sword is used to symbolize the exit of an incumbent President and the swearing-in of a new one.
On Thursday, the coalition’s organizing Committee maintained the ceremony will still be held at Uhuru Park despite Nairobi County closing the venue for renovations.
In a statement to the press,People’s Assembly Organising Committee led by David Ndii also wanted President Uhuru Kenyatta to admit that the October 26, 2017 election was a sham and should that happen, they will consider suspending the oath plan.

“If Uhuru admits the October election was a sham, we might consider having a conversation to see whether it is worth suspending the swearing-in. But that admission has to be significant and agree to repudiate the election and illegitimate presidency,” Ndii said.
The NASA strategist explained that they will also proceed with the People’s Assembly process and engage with Kenyans who are convinced that electoral justice is necessary for a stable, fair, prosperous and stable nation.
