The former Chief Justice Willy Mutunga was on Thursday criticized on social media over a controversial remark he made regarding the drama surrounding Lawyer Miguna Miguna, who is recuperating in Dubai.
The former CJ seemed to defend the judiciary when a user by the name Mwalimu Dida called for the immediate resignation of judges owing to the blatant defiance of court orders by Senior Government officials.

In a quick response, Mutunga clarified to Mr Dida – whose account was disowned by the former Presidential candidate Abduba Dida – that the same Judiciary provides legal protection on his opinion which he termed non-objective.
Mr Dida had explained that Chief Justice David Maraga should ask the judges to resign considering their fruitless effort in the fight for justice for the deported NRM leader.
“At this rate we don’t need the Judiciary. CJ Maraga should just ask his judges to resign. The executive is doing everything, they even judge and sentence. We shouldn’t have institutions that are not functional. Justice George Odunga should stop waiting for miracles.”read Mwalimu Dida’s tweet.
In his reply,Dr Mutunga wrote;
“I am sure the Judiciary will nevertheless protect your biased opinion,” Mutunga replied.
A section of Kenyans of Twitter, who followed the thread,condemned the former CJ stating that he is a source of the judicial problems since he left the office without a solid legacy.
