European Union has finally issued a statement on Supreme Court’s decision to uphold President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win in the repeat Presidential election.
According to the EU ,Supreme court’s judgement issued on Monday, 20 November,put to an end what they described as ‘a long and divisive electoral process’.

“The ruling ended a long and divisive electoral process.It is time for Kenyans to overcome the divisions and pool efforts to take the country forward,” read the statement in part.
The Union,who sent their election observer group in Kenya during both polls, further called on President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga to dialogue and moreso,addresses the issue of electoral reforms.

“We expect all political forces to engage in genuine and meaningful discussions, including on urgent electoral reforms.
They also condemned post-electoral violence and called on the Police to exercise maximum retrain while quelling protests of aggrieved Kenyans.
They assured to offer full cooperation with President Uhuru Kenyuatta’s government but remained coy on congratulating him.
