Elections to continue Until next year. We predicted this Issue-Mutahi Ngunyi

Renown Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi together with his team of analysts at the Fort Hall School of Government have given their opinion regarding the historical ruling by the Supreme Court that nullified President Uhuru Kenyatta’s win

In their weekly analysis of trending topics in Kenyan politics, Prof Ngunyi and the Fifth Estate claim that they predicted that Raila Odinga would win this petition, leading to an unending political season.

According to Prof Mutahi Kenyans to prepare for long and grueling political season since it will not just end with the polls scheduled on 17th October but will spill over to next year.
“August 9th  does not exist because the constitution deleted it. Here is the truth, the earliest Kenya can swear in a president is on November 14, 2017,and that is the good news. The bad new is  that we might swear him on on December 12 or February 13, 2018.
This can only happen if Kenyans act responsibly by voting for Uhuru or Raila overwhelmingly. Only then will a candidate be sworn in on September 12 and the country will be safe.
We believe Uhuru is winning but should there be a runoff, it will happen on October 5- we will be required to vote again.
If the court is in a good mood, the President will be sworn in on November 14.But Lets assume the courts are in a bad mood, the court can nullify the results of the run off all together and a fresh election will be called for on November 4.
In this scenario, the president will be sworn in on December 12.This could be a disaster but the courts could foster a bigger disaster.
If they reject the results of the November fresh election, the earliest we can swear in a President would be February 13, 2018.
If we do not act responsibly and vote decisively on August 8,the courts could make this election painful and long,” Ngunyi and his fellow analysts predicted on 22nd July 2017.
