DP Ruto On Why Kenya Lost CHAN Hosting Rights

Deputy President William Ruto has finally broken his silence on the decision by the Confederation of African Football to deny Kenya the hosting rights for the 2018 Africa Nations Championship.

The DP addressed the issue on Sunday during a series of live TV interviews and later shared some of the sentiments on his social media timelines.

He said Kenya was denied the chance because of the current political situation, especially following the September 1 Supreme Court decision to annul the presidential election.

“That decision (by the Confederation of African Football) was unfortunate. The political uncertainty we are facing is something that has bothered the international community and I think that is why the competition organizers didn’t want to take chances,” said Ruto on KBC.

The DP, however, assured Kenyans that the Jubilee administration is still on course to revamping sports facilities in the country which will be able to host international competitions in the near future.
