Speaking during the induction of parliamentary legal committee in Mombasa,the President of the Supreme Court also stated that he has no powers to sanction judges from swearing-in any Kenyan.
“My roles are clearly stipulated in the constitution. I am not aware of such a letter from my office. I do not have powers to sanction judges from swearing-in any Kenyan,” he said.
Here is what he (Maraga) later retweeted;
Constitutional amendments on electoral laws of 2017 allows any judge to preside over swearing-in of a president-elect as declared by the elections board.
This comes as the NASA Opposition maintains that the oath-taking ceremony will still go on at the already cordoned Uhuru Park grounds.
