Drama ensued in Kawangware area, Nairobi, after a group of residents attacked the entourage of Education CS Fred Matiang’i who was in the area to supervise rehearsals for KCPE candidates.
According to reports, the crowd was allegedly angered by the CS who failed to address them when he toured the area that was rocked by ugly scenes in alleged retaliatory attacks between rival gangs.

Dr. Matiang’i had visited Gatina Primary School to assure Standard Eight candidates set to sit their KCPE exams tomorrow (Tuesday, October 31) of an exam-friendly environment.
Police used teargas to disperse the protesters who were stoning cars and blocking roads in the area.
Kawangware was on Friday, October 27 rocked by election violence that erupted leading to the death of at least three people.

During the incident, two rival groups clashed in the area, with residents claiming that the outlawed Mungiki sect was sent by a group of politicians to terrorize the residents of Kawangware, a perceived opposition stronghold.
