This ruling comes after the lobby group Katiba Institute filed a case at the High Court seeking to bar the Government from using public resources to advertise its achievements during the electioneering period.

According to The Daily Nation, Katiba Institute through its representative Waikwa Wanyoike sued PDU as well as  Andrew Wakahiu,Nzioka Waita and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua.

According to Waikwa Wanyoike, it was against section 14 of the (General)Elections Act to place the ads in a bid to woo Kenyans to vote for Kenyatta’s re-election.

President Uhuru heavily used electronic and print media to showcase the various Jubilee projects like the electricity connection projects,Standard Gauge Railway, free maternity health care among others.
