Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission chairman Wafula Chebukati will have difficulties to defend his integrity if at all a report prepared by NASA IT experts is anything to go by.
Earlier, NASA had claimed that IEBC refused to comply with a court order that directed the commission to allow both parties in presidential election partial access to servers used.

Lawyer Paul Muite for IEBC had defended the commission from the delay arguing that the operators were in Europe which is ‘several’ hours behind Kenya.
But a private report which James Orengo tried to table in Supreme Court shows that Chebukati’s account had over 9000 transaction logs between August 8 and August 22, an impossibility according to experts.
“The Chairperson’s user account alone had 9934 transaction logs.a. The account used an IP address that was not part of the IEBC Partner addresses (41.212. 16.248) a wananchi network IP address”,Read the report.
During the same period, the same account is alleged to have been used to alter, transfer and delete files including Forms 34As.

“The Chairperson’s account was used multiple times to transfer, delete and modify files through the File Transfer Protocol Server which was the mechanism through which all Forms including forms 34 could he uploaded onto the IEBC server”,Orengo added.
The report further claims the account was used to upload Form 34B for Jomvu constituency and download with another re-uploading of the same form for Bureti constituency, a function that was prescribed for constituency Returning Officers.
There were also 3395 failed login attempts on IEBC servers with another 3851 successful attempts within the same period.
