Troubled IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati has first time addressed calls by a number of MPsand Kenyans calling for his resignation following the ‘noisy’ fallout witnessed at the elections board.
Speaking to his staff in a closed-door meeting at the Anniversary Towers-based offices,an adamant Chebukati maintained that he will not resign despite his leadership of the agency being disparaged by the three commissioners who resigned.

According to one of his staff,who spoke to The Star in anonymity,Chebukati was struck by news of the resignation of his 3 colleagues.
“The chairman was caught totally unawares. When he started the meeting, he told us that Mwachanya was away on official duty, Kurgat was on leave and Maina was on her way to attend the meeting,” a member of staff said.
