Chebukati Gives Ezra Chiloba New Roles After The Naivasha Retreat

Commissioners at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) have ironed out their differences and resolved to work together to deliver a free, fair and credible repeat presidential election on October 17.

Speaking at a retreat in Naivasha on Monday, IEBC chairman Wafula Chebukati indicated that the commission discussed issues that surrounded the August 8 election and will ensure there will be a smooth process on 17th.

Chebukati also revealed that IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba will oversee the project team he appointed last week for the fresh showdown.
The Chairman also delegated a new role to Chiloba at the commission;

“The CEO has also been tasked to assess the implementation challenges that were experienced during the just concluded general election and propose a project implementation framework that is aligned with the existing organizational structure”,Chebukati said as quoted by KTN News.

On the issue of the memo by the Chairman to the CEO, we resolved to review the responses by the Secretariat and communicate the same to the public at the appropriate time.
