A church harambee planned to be held in Kapseret, Uasin Gishu County, has laid bare the increasingly growing discontentment in the Uhuru-Ruto ‘marriage’.
According to emerging reports, Jubilee MPs, senators and governors from the larger central Kenya region have received strict orders to boycott the event organized by DP Ruto’s lieutenants from Uasin Gishu.
A senator from Mt Kenya region who had been invited to the event confided to Sunday Nation that the directive came from a powerful but shadowy state official strongly opposed to DP Ruto’s 2022 Presidential bid.

“On Sunday, Peter Kenneth has invited me for a rally he is doing with Oscar Sudi in Eldoret. There is a camp fighting Ruto. So it is telling us we should not set foot in Eldoret on Sunday”.The Senator confirmed to Sunday Nation via a text.
The harambee which was to be presided by 2017 Gubernatorial aspirant ,Peter Kenneth, brought to the fore the growing divisions within the governing party.
On Friday, DP Ruto acknowledged that there is a team keen on scuttling his presidential ambitions and have resorted to peddling lies and propaganda.
“To those peddling propaganda, let them continue; but we will meet with them on the judgement day (2022 elections) and the electorate will decide who is a performer and who is a propagandist,” Ruto said.

His bid has faced many challenges with some leaders ,led by Nyeri town MP Wambugu Ngunjiri warning that the region may not support him.
A joint committee comprised of Kalenjin and Kikuyu elders that had been launched last May in Eldoret to sell DP’s 2022 bid has also suspended its operations indefinitely.
The council was now focused on building bridges initiated by President Kenyatta and his political foe Raila Odinga.
