Court: Miguna free to return to Kenya

The High Court on Thursday revoked the deportation of self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna nine days after the government ejected him from the country.

Judge Luka Kumaru ruled on Thursday said that the declaration by Interior minister Fred Matiang’i was null and void.

The judge also directed Immigration director Gordon Kihalagwa to surrender Miguna’s passport to the court in seven days.

In his ruling Justice Kimaru also cited the Director General of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) George Kinoti and the Director of Immigration Services Gordon Kihalangwa for contempt of court and gave them a window to prove otherwise.
