Details have emerged that Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore has been diagnosed with Leukemia( a type of cancer that usually begin in the bone marrow and result in high numbers of abnormal white blood cells) and is scheduled to undergo rigorous medical procedures in London-KahawaTungu has exclusively established.
Bob is scheduled to undergo various medical procedures at a London hospital, with Safaricom announcing that he will be relinquishing his position temporarily.

During the time he will be away, Sateesh Kamath, Safaricom’s Chief Financial Officer and Collymore’s alternate on the Board, will take a primary role.
He will be supported by Joseph Ogutu who is the Director – Strategy and Innovation, Safaricom. Mr. Ogutu will be responsible for Safaricom’s day-to-day operations until Mr. Collymore’s return from medical leave.
The embattled CEO has recently faced accused by NASA coalition of colluding with Safran Morpho company in transmitting manipulated results of the bungled August 8th election.
The opposition coalition also raised questions of his departure which was concurrent with the just concluded October 26th election.
