Another Major Win For Railonzo as They Seek to Ascend To Power

National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate, Raila Odinga’s fight over the years to reform the Electoral Commission has been full of endless challenges.

The opposition leader, however, has a reason to smile for the first time after The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) rejected the proposed electoral law amendments being pushed by Jubilee legislators, The Star Newspaper reports.

According to the Star, the commission is expected to oppose the amendments in the course of this week.

A commissioner who confided on condition of anonymity told the Star that Jubilee needs to avoid targeting the commission and wait until the repeat poll is conducted before the party can make amendments to electoral laws.

“The commission believes that instead of targeting the (IEBC) chair or any individual while amending the law, Jubilee should wait for the election to be done and a comprehensive review was undertaken.

“In fact, we believe the chair’s position should be made executive since and commissioners are involved in operational issues,” a commissioner said, as quoted by the local daily.

The laws have continued to attract mixed reactions from different factions across the country.
