“He would tell me, ‘Please release me, I’m ready. I’ve served the people, I’m right with God, and I’m ready to go.’ I would not release him. I would encourage him,” Mrs Nyenze recounted as quoted by NairobiNews.
She said that when she left him at the Nairobi Hospital on Tuesday night, she sensed a difference in the way he bade her farewell.
The “bye” was different.
During his swearing-in at Parliament Buildings on August 31, 20017, the veteran MP carried an oxygen tank into the chambers, a sign that he was not in good health condition.
Despite looking frail, Nyenze put on a brave face and took his oath with the oxygen tank behind him and tubes snaking up his back.

His brother-in-law ,Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua, revealed that Nyenze’s cancer treatment regime had taken a toll to his lungs.
“The lungs had been really compromised. So, he had difficulties breathing,” he said.
As a result, he contracted pneumonia during his reelection campaigns ahead of the August polls.
May his Soul Rest in Eternal Peace!
